The Future is Bright

There comes a time in every man's life, where he must decide what do and where to go after college graduation. I cannot believe how much time has went by and now it is finally time for me to finish up at BYU and move in with my life. It has been a fantastic 5 years being here at Provo, Utah studying at BYU. I will be graduating this August with my degree in Geography: Physical Environment Emphasis. I am looking forward to my future and what is waiting for me out there, and whatever it may be, I am ready and I am prepared.
The month of May is now gone for this year, and there are now three months left for the rest of this summer. I still have many things to accomplish and also to have a lot of fun at the same time. I enjoy being in the outdoors. I really like to go camping, backpacking and hiking which are in the plans for later on this month and for the rest of the summer. I also like to play ultimate frisbee and soccer and I am grateful that I only live about three blocks south of a park. I have many wonderful friends who are there for me and that I have the opportunity to accomplish many of these activities with them. I always look forward of meeting new people and getting to know them.
The future is bright and wonderful and there should be nothing to worry about. For now, we all should continue doing our best and learn from the past, live today and prepare for tomorrow without any worries.

Service

Recently, I was able to post a small introduction about myself on a Facebook group so I thought that I could also post this on my blog: My name is Jose A. Saenz, from Visalia, California, and I have been participating as a Y-Group Leader since Fall 2006. Ever since then, I have been able to help many students get adjusted and begin their new college life here at BYU. It always brings me a smile whenever I run into one of the students from my previous groups, and even during these recent times, I am even running into those who returning back from their missions. This is now my fifth year at BYU and will be finally graduating this August 2009 with a degree in Geography. I also been involved with BYUSA for four years: two years as a representative on the Student Advisory Council, two years ago as a Executive Director for the Student Advisory Council and just this past school year as a Presidential Initiatives Director. I also served as a Peer Mentor for the Foundations of Leadership Conference these past two years and it has been a lot of fun getting to know the new incoming freshman and helping and preparing them to get adjusted to the college life. I am looking forward to serve as a Y-Group Leader and this will be my last time before I graduate and to make a difference here at BYU.

The End of Another Semster...Christmas Time!

It feels like it was yesterday when I was purchasing my text books and was getting ready for my first week of classes for the Fall 2008 semester. Now it is that time again for some more stressful moments and fewer hours of sleep as one prepares for the final exams. Once those are over, then one can go to the comfort of their homes, relax, catch up on some sleep, spend time with the family, and regenerate to get ready for another semester.
Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It is indeed a great time to go home, spend time with my family and catch up on some things. I am looking forward to returning home, but I am not looking forward to the long, 10 - hour drive to get there. I am also looking forward to the warmer weather there in Visalia, California compared to here in Provo, Utah. The high's are usually in the 50s and then gets in the 30s as the overnight low.
Christmas is a great time to remember the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that He lives and that through Him, we can all return to live with our Heavenly Father. This is what the true meaning of Christmas is all about.

So it finally begins...

Well, since I guess blogging is a popular thing these days, I have finally decided, after all this time and waiting, to start my own blog and let my thoughts and opinions be shared.
